Paid for by Virginians Against Neighborhood Slot Machines
BREAKING: “Skill” Game Industry Continues Dirty Tricks in Virginia
BREAKING: Despite good natured efforts by law enforcement to keep illegal “skill” game machines out of Virginia, the operators behind these devices continue their dirty tricks in an effort to maintain operations that drain resources instead of uplifting communities.
After a recent successful crack down on the operation of shady neighborhood slot machines in Manassas Park, the main operator of these machines has decided they would rather sue the locality in question instead of coming through the front door and being legally regulated like other industries. This is despite previous claims they have made in past efforts: “we are going through the front door and we are saying regulate us.”
Filing a lawsuit against a locality simply trying to enforce the law, including conforming with guidance from the Virginia Attorney General, is the opposite of going through the front door.
Time and time again, Virginians have made it clear they do not want neighborhood slot machines in their community. In this case, the majority of the machines were seized from several different businesses all in the same shopping center.
Recent polling indicated 67 percent of Virginia voters reported opposition to “skill” games in bars, restaurants, convenience stores and gas stations that fail to employ reasonable consumer and community protections.
Manassas Park should be applauded for upholding the law and defending the safety of their citizens. This industry continues to prove they do not respect Virginians or the laws passed by their representatives.
