THANK YOU FOR STANDING UP AGAINST CONVENIENCE STORE SLOTS

Members of the Virginia Assembly,

Thank you for standing strong against another push from the so-called “skill” game industry to legalize their dangerous devices.

The attempt earlier this year to sneak neighborhood slot machines in through the budget was just the latest in a long line of questionable business practices and tactics from the industry.

The manufacturer of these machines has blatantly disrespected Virginia law and the authority of the General Assembly time and time again by continuing to operate despite the existing ban. Even going so far as to create a new device in an attempt to skirt the language in the code. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds and I am grateful for legislators like yourself who stand strong in the face of special interests.

Virginia is better off when companies who want to do business in the Commonwealth are trusted partners acting in good faith. Please continue to be an outspoken opponent of “skill” games and oppose any effort to legalize them in Virginia.
